There are no plans to extend the labeling or visualization profiles to include FeatureSet functionality for performance reasons. Label and visualization expressions are executed on a per-feature basis and a feature set query executed per-feature would slow down draw performance. For this use-case the recommendation is to use a calculate attribute rule where the script is executed at data creation or update time rather than once per draw loop. FeatureSetByName can be used to perform FeatureSet lookups with any other dataset in the same workspace. Text Formatting tags aren't an Arcade feature, they're a text symbol feature supported in ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Runtime. I'm unable to reproduce this myself (using 10.8.1). Maplex respect the "Minimum feature size for labeling" and other label density settings. If removing duplicates is the desired result, I'd recommend using that option if the "Connect features" option with "minimize labels" doesn't work for the streets you have. ... View more

We had smooth and simplify effects in ArcMap geometric effects with Representations. We didn't bring these forward in ArcGIS Pro because they were not used often due to problematic results. Why?: Effects are applied on a feature by feature basis and while smooth or simplify may work fine for a single isolated feature, they can quickly introduce conflicts and overlaps when applied individually to many close features. The smooth and simplify geoprocessing tools handle these cases by considering topological conflicts and handling cases like coincident edges.
