@LucasBeauchampIt could get very cluttered and confusing when it comes to setting templates and attributes in that pane when there is a 1 to many relationship. With Merge it makes more sense because we know only one feature is being created as it's a many to one operation. If we were to introduce the attribute/template options on divide it would have to be an all or nothing approach, like you would be applying the template/attributes to all the features that are created by the divide. I think just using the Attribute pane after the Divide is a better approach as everything would be selected after the Divide and you can set values to all the divided features one each feature individually. However, I could see that having the ability to use a template or not could possibly be done if you omit having the attribute table like what is in merge. Having just that could be something but that would be a change the Editing team would need to look at as we are just using their tool.

@LucasBeauchamp Scratch that... this is actually "by design". I fall into this trap constantly and I wish that Domains weren't set up like this by default. I noticed in your data all the fields that had domains were what failed to come across when Dividing. To fix this go and edit your Domain; right click any layer --> data design --> Domains Then find the domains you want (probably all of them) and switch the split policy from DEFAULT to DUPLICATE. This will then fix the problem you are having.

@LucasBeauchampI see the issue with your data. I think it's a bug. I'll have developers look into why it's happening. Thanks!

@LucasBeauchamp Would you be able to send me that small subset of data? I can then test it out internally and see what's happening? Thanks

Hello @-_Ashley-B-Potter_- I'm unable to reproduce this on ArcGIS Pro 3.2. I created a subtype on a lines layer and created some lines that were not the default subtype. I ran planarize and all the lines stayed of the subtype of their parent lines. Would you be able show an example with some images or a video of what is happening?

Hey @LucasBeauchamp Can you explain a little more on what's happening? I tested this right now and I have a parcel type that has a subtype set on the Polygon layer. When I divide the polygon all the children parcels that are created are the same subtype of the parent parcel. Also, what version of ArcGIS Pro are you using?

Hello @CatherineRoloson I think what you want to be able to do with Merging into New Feature can be done. If you uncheck the "Use Template" check box and then you can choose which feature to preserve the attributes by selecting the feature in the "Feature to merge" box. Let me know if this is what you want to have happen. -Jason

Hey @SeanLyons Great idea, in fact we have discussed this internally quite a bit but we always have lots of questions. I would like to pose them to you and the community as well. When tracing lines, if the tool allowed lines in opposite directions to be traced how would you expect that line be represented in the grid? How would the lines COGO measurements be displayed in the Traverse Grid? How would editing those specific lines directions work? We are very curious to what many users would expect to happen in the grid if we allowed reverse line tracing.

Hello @-_Ashley-B-Potter_- Hopefully I'm understanding your question correctly. You have a bunch of records that have features in them and you want to consolidate all those features into one record. Here's what I would suggest. Create the new record that you want everything to be associated to. Set that record as Active Open Manage Records and search for the records that have the features you want to move over to the newly created one In the manage records pane select all the records and then right click and choose Select Features in Records (use shift click to multi select) Now all the polygons, lines and points from all those records will be selected. Go to the records HUD and click the menu button and choose "Assign Selection To Record" Those features will now all be assigned to your newly created record. You can now clean up those empty records by deleting them as necessary. Let me know if this workflow accomplishes what you need. - Jason Camerano

Well, some good news regarding that type of curve... At ArcGIS Pro 3.3 we have enhanced the Merge Collinear Lines tool to work with curves. I selected those lines and ran the GP tool on them and it created a curve Only problem is you'll have to wait just a bit until 3.3 comes out in order to use the tool with the new functionality.
