What you will need to do is create a raster with the range of values you want (if you don't have one already), set the symbology you want, and then save it out as a layer file. You will then need to import the symbology from the layer file for all the rasters you want symbolized this way. This will get them showing the same colors for the same values regardless of the range of values in each raster. Patrick

For Mosaic Method what option are you selecting? I would go with Maximum. You can read about the available options in the Help. Patrick

Hi bodomalo, I think the issue you are running into is the cellsize you are using in the Polygon to Raster tool. Lets say your polygon shapefile has an extent of 48600,8324 meters on the left and 48700,9324 meters on the right, and you specify a cellsize of 2 meters in the Polygon to Raster tool. There is 100.1 meters between the left and right extent, and since you specified 2 meters as the cellsize you end up with 50.05 pixels, however you can't have .05 pixels. This isn't possible, so you lose .05 of the extent. To illustrate this, I created a polygon that is 2 meters x 2 meters. I then used the Polygon to Raster tool, and specified 1 as the output cellsize. You can see from my screenshots, the extent is exactly the same as the polygon. Next I ran the tool again, but used .7 as my cellsize. You can see that the extent is different from the polygon, because you can't have part of a pixel. Hi Joe, If you have the data on a machine that is different than the machine you have ArcGIS Server on (and you don't want to create a domain account for the ArcGISSOC user) you will need to create an ArcGISSOC account on the machine containing the data. The username and password must be exactly the same as the ArcGISSOC account on the machine with ArcGIS Server. You will then need to explicitly give the ArcGISSOC account permissions to the folder with the data. The Everyone user will not work, as the ArcGISSOC account needs explicit permissions. Patrick

To Multiply by 10 or 100, you can use the Times tool in Spatial Analyst Tools > Math, or you can use the Raster Calculator for in Spatial Analyst Tools > Map Algebra. The INT tool is also found in Spatial Analyst Tools > Math. Patrick

Hi Sharon, So your polygon file is in the North Pole Lambert Azimuthal Equal Area projection, and the points you added are in decimal degrees, is that correct? If so, you will need to add the XY data into ArcMap using the correct Geographic Coordinate system (WGS 1984 or whatever it is in), export this out to a shapefile, and then use the Project tool to change the projection. What you did is take data with the correct extents and coordinate system, and then deleted the correct coordinate system and changed it to something else while leaving the extents unchanged. If you want to get data from one coordinate system to another you will always need to use the Project (or Project Raster if you are dealing with rasters) tool. Patrick

I just looked at the Joining Census Data to TIGER/Line Shapefiles pdf, and the instructions are for ArcMap, not ArcGIS Explorer Desktop. I also checked the Web Help for ArcGIS Explorer Desktop 1500, and it does not look like it is possible to create a join. You may want to look into putting it as an Idea on the Esri Ideas website. To remove pyramids on a file geodatabase raster, open the Build Pyramids tool, click the Environments button, and expand Raster Storage. For Pyramid levels enter 0, then run the tool. This will delete any pyramids you have built. Once this is done, you can re-build pyramids to see if this helps. You could also try exporting out to a different raster format, and see if you experience the same problem. Patrick

The .gdbindexes and .gdbtablx extensions are extensions used in a file geodatabase. You say you can see the raster dataset in ArcCatalog? It sounds like you have a file geodatabase raster dataset. If you want to convert it to a different format, use the Copy Raster tool, and specify the format you desire, such as .tif. Patrick

The two options for loading data into a mosaic dataset is to use UNC or absolute paths. Are you planning on distributing the mosaic datasets inside your organization? If so, I would suggest using UNC paths to load the data into the mosaic dataset. Patrick
