Denis, It looks like your code is trying to directly access an MXD file. ArcGIS Runtime APIs can't read MXDs. You can create Map Packages from within ArcMap. ArcMap can open your MXD and package the contents of that document into an .MPK file. That MPK can be opened in your Runtime app using a Local Server instance, as described in this example: Local Server feature layer | ArcGIS for Developers Or, you can read the shapefile directly (using version 10.2.4, which seems to be what you're using?). Here's an example: Shapefile feature layer | ArcGIS for Developers I hope this is helpful!

Hi Jonathon, I apologize for the delayed response. We are aware of this issue. We're you able to get a response from Support on this? It's very odd that your Android tablet gives your a better experience than your desktop. What's the OS?

Your empty feature table schema must come from somewhere first, a feature service with editing operations enabled from Online or Enterprise for example. I assume you're starting with an existing schema from somewhere? You cannot create a feature table from scratch using the Runtime API. If you can describe more of what you need to do, for context, that might help. Are you using Local Server by chance? Thanks!

Hi, Are you trying to debug into the source code of the Java Runtime? The source code isn't made available for the Runtime libraries. ShapefileFeatureTable, for example. The source isn't there. What exceptions are you getting from your program?

I know this is an old thread, but to update things: at 100.0, features are JSON serializable. See FeatureCollection| arcgis-java , to/fromJson. I hope this is helpful!

Hi Jonathon, Thank you for sharing these issues. I'm sorry to hear of your struggles with these pain points. We hear you. We continue to work hard on improving performance, this is a huge priority for everyone, I agree. Have you had a chance to log the feature caching and tile loading issues (bullets 2 and 3) with Esri Support, with the details? We were aware of the flickering in 10.2.x, haven't gotten feedback about this showing up in 100.0. You're developing with 100.0? Norbert, I agree..."the Lukes" are great. Thanks! Eric

Hi Mark. Lucas is right about logging an enhancement request. We monitor those as closely as we can. In addition, you can always use https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas to post this request. In doing this, you can engage the community in promoting the idea by voting. I hope this helps.

We are happy to announce that ArcGIS Runtime Local Server SDK 100.0.1 for Windows and Linux is now available. You can log in and download them from developers.arcgis.com today! As we first announced last November when ArcGIS Runtime SDK 100.0 for Qt was released, Local Server, which at 10.x was part of the entire Runtime SDK, is now an optional installation component of the ArcGIS Runtime. We only released the Windows version at that time as part of ArcGIS Runtime SDK 100.0. This new release now introduces the Linux version of Local Server, and adds some bug fixes for Windows as well. That is why you'll notice the version number 100.0.1 is the same for both. Learn more about the powerful analytic capabilities that are found in the Local Server at this release. In addition to providing the same capabilities as in the previous release, Local Server provides additional tools supported at the Standard, Advanced and Analysis levels, opening up new workflows for data management, analytical, and runtime content packaging. For a complete listing of supported tools, please refer to the Local Server geoprocessing tools support topic. We invite you to give it a run and give us feedback. Have fun out there! Hi David. It sounds like you've set up things correctly. Can you use something like Fiddler to see what's going on across the network? That may help to find out what the culprit might be.

Lee, Just to add to Lucas' response, we are currently working on some additional guide topics to be included in the online Help that will zero in on where and how to change your code. Of course, it will still be somewhat high-level and not exhaustive, but it should give more practical advice than we currently have. To underscore what Lucas said, this really is a new, redesigned API. Look for a new 'migration' topic sometime at the end of January.

Hey Adam, What if you were able to access raster files, including raster mosaics, without Local Server? Wouldn't you want to be able to directly read, query, perform raster functions, and apply rendering to those, instead of having to use the overhead of Local Server? We're moving to a point where the power of the Local Server will focus more on analytics and geoprocessing, primarily. Since maps, feature data, raster data, symbology, Network, search and geocoding, all of that are no longer dependent on Local Server, it comes down to locally-used advanced GP. Let me know if this helps.

Hi Norman. Adam is correct. The functionality here is simply for exporting the map image and using it as-is.
