Hi Carlos. With Final, this worked for me, highlighting all of graphics used in the MessageProcessorApp sample: try{
for(Layer l : msgGroupLayer.getLayers()){
if(l instanceof com.esri.map.GraphicsLayer){
GraphicsLayer gl = (GraphicsLayer)l;
SimpleMarkerSymbol sms = new SimpleMarkerSymbol(Color.YELLOW,20,Style.CIRCLE);
gl.setSelectionSymbol(sms);
int[] ids = gl.getGraphicIDs();
for(int i : ids){
gl.select(i);
}
}
}
}catch(Exception e){
e.printStackTrace();
} Is this helpful at all?

While you're at it, I also noticed that the installer for the Java prerelease does not properly set the expected resources path of its Message Processor component in Linux. Linux is very case-sensitive when it comes to file paths. As for this, after install, you need to manually source the init_sdk_java.sh script. Are you saying that this script still doesn't set up your env and paths correctly? Thanks for clarification.

We would like to know if there is a way to consume globe services in Web application instaed of having to view in ArcGIS Explorer supposedly a light weight application in Arc products. We would like to view the globe service and not imageries in the web applications. The Web and Mobile Application Developer Frameworks (ADFs) for ArcGIS Server does seem to have control to consume globe services. Globe services are accessible through RESTful Web applications, but only for analysis in browser-based Web applications. For visualizing/displaying 3D information on globes, the only clients are ArcGIS Desktop (ArcGlobe/ArcScene) and ArcGIS Explorer Desktop. You may also be interested in looking at the CityEngine product. Apps developed with the Web APIs or the now-deprecated ADFs are not capable of displaying and interacting with 3D globes. I hope this is helpful.

Hi Adam. I'm afraid you won't have much luck, if you are working with a Map in a visual application. If you are trying a console-type non-visual app you may have some success there. Doubtful that another virtualization software would work at this stage. You are correct, though. Not officially supported at this point.

Hi Kevin. Click the Line button. Then, when beginning your sketch, try left-clicking once on the map, without holding it down, then move the mouse. The line should draw now as you move the mouse. Does that work?

Hi David. Yes, correct. These input fields are missing. We have this as a known issue, to be fixed at a later time. Thanks for catching this!

Why? ? A valid question! Engine on Linux is dependent on Mainwin libraries. Mainwin does not work on Ubuntu, unfortunately. In June, there will be a new product released called The ArcGIS Runtime, which does not depend on Mainwin, and will be supported on Ubuntu LTS .

This typically happens when you are compiling your code to be compliant with one version of Java, say, compiling for Java 1.6, but then your Java Runtime version tries to use your compiled class files in Java 1.5, for example. Do you see what I mean? Are you using Eclipse? If so, you can make sure you are compiling your source code to the correct level by going to "Project Properties-->Java Compiler", then view your compliance settings. If you are using Java 1.5 at runtime, make sure your compliance settings in your IDE are set for 1.5. Recompile, then redeploy. I hope this helps.

9.3.1 is not certified with Java 6. Only Java 5. You can go above 1.5.0_13, but not up to 1.6.x. If you are using ArcGIS 10.0, you should use Java 1.6.0_24, or the latest, whatever it is.

I'm not sure what's going on. Are you using Oracle's JRE on your Linux machine? That is the JRE you should be using.
