Hi Jagadeesh, ... Based on above information ArcSDE is no longer now. and the ArcSDE Techology is intergerated with both ArcGIS Desktop 10 and ArcGIS Server as per esri information. ... how it is related these things with the ArcSDE and how we can connect ArcSDE without install. ... To clarify, since the 9.2 release ArcSDE is no longer a separate product offering. However, it is still a software product with its own installation, and is now included in the "product box" with both ArcGIS for Desktop and ArcGIS for Server. ArcGIS for Desktop (at the ArcEditor and ArcInfo levels) includes ArcSDE technology for SQL Server Express (aka. Personal ArcSDE). ArcSDE technology is a separate installation from Desktop. It enables you to create Desktop Geodatabases. ArcGIS for Server also includes ArcSDE technology in 2 offerings: 1. ArcGIS for Server Workgroup (all editions) includes ArcSDE technology for SQL Server Express (aka. Workgroup ArcSDE). ArcSDE technology is a separate installation from Server. It enables you to create Workgroup Geodatabases. 2. ArcGIS for Server Enterprise (all editions) includes Enterprise ArcSDE technology which can be installed on several different DBMS platforms (e.g., DB2, Informix, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server). Enterprise ArcSDE technology is a separate installation from Server. It enables you to create Enterprise Geodatabases. FYI: There are 3 types of multiuser ArcSDE geodatabases: Enterprise, Workgroup, and Desktop. Types of multiuser ArcSDE geodatabases I suggest you review the ArcGIS help documetation for more information and specifics of each type of ArcSDE geodatabase. Hope this helps,

Hi Steve, It is not possible to change the clustering maximum limit to a number beyond 20. This is by design: 20 is a lot of points for an end user to go over individually. Hope this helps,

Hi Niall, Sorry, I'm not aware of any performance metric tools for measuring the rendering of custom ArcFM objects in ArcMap. I suggest you try asking on the ArcFM/Telvent forums: Telvent GIS Tech Support - Forums Hope this helps,

Hi Dana, ... Post 10.1, is there any chance the AGS and Desktop teams are working on a way to allow ArcGIS for Desktop to edit data accessed via SDS? ... I can't comment on the post-ArcGIS 10.1 development efforts at this time. It's much too early as we're working on completing the 10.1 release. ... If you can't edit non-SDE Oracle Spatial data using ArcGIS for Desktop, what can you edit it with? ... You can use the Web Mapping APIs (JavaScript, Flex, and Silverlight) since they work with the REST API. Hope this helps,

Hi Niall, ... Is this a known issue, is there a way to find draw speeds of layers that are ArcFM objects? You're correct, the GDBT 9.2 release was not designed to work with custom ArcFM objects. This is a known limitation of the developer sample. Hope this helps,

Craig and Todd, ... I wonder if there's an easier way to see the version dependents? Right, like a model builder-type utility that draws a tree diagram out? That would rock. FYI, at ArcGIS 10.1, there are several new tools that make the management of ArcSDE geodatabases much easier. including an enhanced version manager dialog. From the Jack Pre-UC 2011 Q&A: > What are some of the enhancements to the geodatabase in ArcGIS 10.1? > Administering my enterprise geodatabase can be difficult. Are there any tools coming that will help with this process? Hope this helps,
