No, if you use 'Add Item' from my content, and you have an organizational subscription to ArcGIS Online, you will see an option to publish the shapefile as a feature layer. This feature layer (new item) can be added to a map. Alternatively, when viewing a map, click the Add button, and Add layer from file. Browse for the zipped shapefile to add it. Thanks, Mike

If you have an organizational subscription to arcgis online, adding a shapefile to My Content will present a publish option that allows you to make a "live" layer out of it. If you don't have a subscription, you have to add the shapefile directly to the map, via the Add button. Thanks Mike

No, there is no way to control popup ordering. The order comes from how fast layers can return their popup information. The fastest wins. The popup populates with the first and the rest come in when they return their information We have discussed allowing user defined ordering, but then the popup would have to wait to display its contents until all layers have returned their values. This could make the popup slower. Thanks, Mike

Simply because that's the way it was designed. We chose to show the members of the organization to foster communication via group sharing. Access to items and groups from this page is still restricted to what an individual actually has access to via sharing. What aspects do you want to hide and why? Thanks, Mike

If you added the shapefile to the web map directly, then there is no ability for attachments on popups, because the data is being stored directly in the map. If you add the shapefile to your My Content, then you have the option to publish it as a feature layer. Feature layers do support attachments, and you enable them from the item details page like I described above. When you publish a layer in this manner, the features are stored in a database that allows you to add attachments. Thanks, Mike

Just to be clear, when you click the show related records, the table that displays only shows the specific records related to the feature clicked. Can you explain what sort of enhancement you are after? Say you have 20 related records for a given feature. How are you expecting the popup to display all 20 records? Are you expecting some sort of paging mechanism that allows you to step through each record? We have not tried to implement this as we would need to introduce additional navigation on the popup panel. For example, an initial click over the map might yield 5 layer matches. A layer match might have multiple related tables with multiple related records. A related record might further have related records. So it can get complex quite quickly. If we implement such a solution, we'd need to support the worst case... Thanks, Mike

ArcGIS Server cached map services can support accessing individual layer of the service via an index number. Like Anthony says, in this case you are bypassing the cache. Instead, ArcGIS Online map viewer sends a query to the server to retrieve the feature geometry (all the coordinate data) and draw the data client side (e.g., in the web browser). You have to be careful with this approach to adding layers because the client has limits on the number of features it can handle (we suggest less than 1000). This post discusses the limitation of client side drawing of features. https://community.esri.com/message/270979#270979 ArcGIS Online Hosted tile layers do not support accessing the individual layers. Tile services can only return tiles from the cache. Thanks, Mike

If a given feature has attachments, then they will show up automatically as links in the popup window. Clicking on a link will allow you to view the attachment. Unfortunate, for example, if you have an image attachment, it won't draw in the popup, or show as a thumbnail. This is a performance limitation, as the file can be large and would require a full download. So if you had say 2 images of 5mb each, that's a 10mb download to display them. Are you attempting to display attachments on an ArcGIS Server feature layer or a hosted feature layer in ArcGIS Online? If you published your data to ArcGIS Online and created a feature layer, you need to go to the item details page of the feature layer, look for the list of sublayers and click the small arrow next to the name to enable the layer to support attachments. Once you've done that, you can add attachments, and thus view them. Thanks, Mike

If you have one to one relates, you can have the values show up in the popup itself. However, since you have 1 to many relates, if you want to show the actual field values, you need to click the Show Related Records button, which opens a table showing the related records. You do have the option to display a summarized value in the popup itself. For example, if one of your attributes is store sales, and there are x stores that are related, you can have the popup display the sum of all sales of the x stores. Thanks, Mike

What exactly are you trying to do? Is the interface not handling something you need? As I understand it, PortalPy will support custom roles, but it doesn't do so yet. It's on the plan, but with no release date set yet. Thanks, Mike
