These issues are very difficult to troubleshoot. Other users have discussed offsets, but on the order of 10 meters. http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/42696-Projecting-data-correctly-in-Arcgis-basemaps. Are you adding shapefiles to your webmap? Can you share your shapefiles here? You mention that these display fine in ArcMap. However, the coordinate system you are using is OS GB coordinate system. What happens if you change the data frame coordinate system to web mercator Aux sphere? Do you see a similar problem? The problem seems like a coordinate system transformation issue. Thanks, Mike

Nashua, Sorry, the wording in my post above was backwards. It should have said "there is no way to draw map services on top of feature services". This is something we can't overcome because the implementation relies on the browser's ability to draw on the page. All features in a feature service are drawn by the browser over the page. I suppose another option would be to allow feature services to support labeling. I have not heard anything on this front, so I don't believe anything will happen soon. Perhaps even a third option would be to support some sort of labeling layer. Is it possible to add the layer that represents your feature service into the map service? Or perhaps you are editing the features. Mike

Clem, Turns out your KML is regionated KML, which we don't currently support. That's why it didn't display initially. THe reason we were able to get it to work is after you got to the base KML, it didn't specify regions. Thanks, Mike

Tony, it's working for me. What browser are you using? Perhaps Internet Explorer? You do have to navigate the heirarchy of the Contents panel to turn layers on. THanks, Mike

Nashua, No there is no way to draw map services on top of feature services. Map services return images that the web browser displays as an image. Feature services are vectors drawn by the browser and always appear on top of images. Thanks, Mike

The webmaps that are displaying the login screen have layers that reference items that are not publicly shared. The webmap works in the ArcGIS.com Map Viewer because you are logged in and have access to the items. When embedded, your login information is not available. Thus, even thought he webmap is public, the items in it are not. The solution is to share the items you added that reference your map services publicly. If you don't want to do this, you can reauthor the webmaps and add your map service layers directly to the webmap, not based on an item. We need to make a change to ArcGIS.com to let people know when they share an item publicly, like a webmap, that the item may reference other items that are not shared publicly, which you may want to make public. This is something we want to address in a future release. Thanks, Mike

I'm not sure why it's not working in IE9. I do see the data from the KML coming back to the browser for drawing, but it may be that there are too many features to draw and IE9 isn't able to draw them. I've written up a report so that we can investigate this further. Thanks, Mike

I'd suggest doing a google search...this and several other matches turned up for me http://www.codingforums.com/archive/index.php/t-222912.html However, it doesn't seem like the issue got resolved, but it may provide you some guidance. Perhaps you can consider renaming your group with underscores or no spaces... thanks, Mike

Matt, It is possible to use a custom tiling scheme. You just need to choose the custom option in ArcMap when publishing. See the attached image. Also, for beta issues, it's better to post questions in the beta forums here: http://forums.arcgis.com/forums/188-ArcGIS-Online Thanks, Mike

Shawn, This workflow should fix things. change the symbology in your MXD and temporarily rename the layer. Republish your map service from the MXD. Clear the REST cache (via http://server/ArcGIS/rest/admin) View your web map and also display the legend in ArcGIS Online in IE7. The legend should look right Edit your MXD again and rename your layer back to what you want it to be. Clear the REST cache. View the map and legend again in ArcGIS Online. Everything should look right. Wait 30 minutes, and it should look right in other browsers (firefox, chrome, later versions of IE). The reason is that legend swatches returned as MIME are cached on the ArcGIS Online for 30 minutes. IE7 doesn't support MIME and requires a URL to an image, which is why it should work immediately after following the above. If this doesn't work, you'll need to post the URL to your map service here so we can look at it. Thanks, Mike

Shawn, Yes, try clearing your REST endpoint cache after you've updated the service. FYI, this REST cache updating will happen automatically at ArcGIS Server 10.1 when you republish a service. Mike
