...have created a map and added some of my own data How have you added your own data? If you've added it directly to the map, then it is being stored inside the map and is available in this map only. What you want to do is create a web service out of your data. You can do this by publishing your data from ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) or adding a shapefile or csv as an item in My Content. With a subscription, you have the option to create a feature service out of it. Once created, you'll see the REST URL on the item details page that you could use directly. But, as Kelly says, you'll probably want to add that service to a web map because then you can symbolize the features. Thanks, Mike

That is a lot of layers! What type of layers are in the map? Have you loaded a lot of shapefiles or CSVs into the map? You might try using google chrome or firefox web browsers, as they are better than IE at handling larger maps. Can you share your map and post the URL here? Thanks, Mike

With an organizational subscription, you'll be able to visualize your points by creating a hosted service out of your data rather than loading the data directly into the web map. The subscription gives you the ability to create a service, which is different than loading directly in the web map, which is what you can do without one. Thanks, Mike

So you want to use the template and modify it to directly connect to ArcGIS Server services? Yes, this is possible. The templates are JavaScript code built on the JavaScript API. You should be able to do this. Consult the JavaScript API help and if you have questions, post to the JavaScript forum. Forum - http://forums.arcgis.com/forums/15-ArcGIS-API-for-JavaScript Help - http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/ Thanks, Mike

Are you talking about a hosted feature service as part of your subscription? They don't support attachments yet. If you're talking about your a feature service on your own server, can you provide the URL to your service? Thanks, Mike

How is your organization configured? All SSL? Are the maps you're trying to add part of your organization? I see this problem when the services inside the web maps are not publicly accessible or no longer exist. Thanks, Mike

Currently, it is not possible to export web map features to ArcGIS Desktop. Map packages can only be created from ArcGIS Desktop. There will be improved support for reading web maps at ArcGIS Desktop 10.1. Layers stored in the map (map notes, shapefiles, csvs) become feature classes that can be saved. Thanks, Mike

You should be using the services on task.arcgisonline.com... These are our publicly available services. I'm not sure what the other is. But given that it doesn't work... Thanks, Mike

It's hard to troubleshoot why these connections are not working through the forums. My suggestion is to contact Esri technical support so that they can collect information about your configuration and possibly replicate the problem in house. Thanks, Mike

I don't believe we have anything that just works out of the box currently. However, you might try cross posting in some of the Android forums. http://forums.arcgis.com/forums/203-ArcGIS-for-Android-Apps http://forums.arcgis.com/forums/139-ArcGIS-Runtime-SDK-for-Android Mike

It took me a minute to figure out how you are actually doing this...So it seems you are using the Custom Attribute Display option and using the "Link" button to create a link that does a mailto, right? I see what you mean, the input field for the URL on the Link dialog seems to gray out the OK button until you type in, for example, @esri.com. So you can't do a complete field substitution. I tried a few other approaches, where I did {Email}@{Domain}.com, but it seems like the curly braces cause problems too. Unfortunately, this control is part of the tool kit we use. We don't have full control over how it validates a URL. So I don't think there's any way to make this work. Thanks, Mike

If you look at the REST endpoint of your server, it would say a version number, like 10.03, which is 10, SP3. http://domain/ArcGIS/rest/services Are you able to connect and view your services from ArcGIS Desktop?? Thanks, Mike

If you want to modify the templates, you'll need to download the template, modify it by writing your own JavaScript code, then host it on your own web server. There is no way to customize a template that is 'published' to ArcGIS Online. Here's a link to the JavaScript API. There are lots of code samples, some of which illustrate geocoding. http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/index.html I'd also suggest looking at the JavaScript API forum. This is the best forum to use for API questions (developers don't really monitor the ArcGIS Online forum). http://forums.arcgis.com/forums/15-ArcGIS-API-for-JavaScript Hope this helps, Mike
