1. I've seen this problem with web maps that reference services that are not available. The layer is removed from the map for the duration of the session. The best thing to do is to just stop viewing the web map and don't save changes. If you don't save, the layer will still be in the web map the next time you open the map. I've never seen this problem with maps that contain shapefiles. With shapefiles, all the data is stored inside the web map, so I'm not sure how you're getting that error message with shapefiles. Can you share the web map publicly? 2. What template are you using? 3. Can you share the web map publicly? Thanks. Mike

No, you can't add a time slider. A time slider only appears for ArcGIS Server services that are time aware (they have been configured to display data over time). Thanks, Mike

Web maps with queries or gadgets in them should open by default in Explorer Online. All others will open in the ArcGIS.com map viewer. Thanks, Mike

There is no way to set the default viewer. The only web maps that will open by default in Explorer online are those that have queries or gadgets in them. Thanks, Mike

This link seems to work for me, but interestingly, it doesn't work in Google Earth. "http://data.cabq.gov/transit/realtime/route/allroutes_network.kml" To add it to the web map, from the Map Viewer, I clicked Add>Add file from web. I chose the KML option and entered the URL. Thanks, Mike

I was describing a scenario where the data would be updated on the server. So instead of editing in ArcMap, you'd be doing so against the hosted service. Any updates in this context would be reflected on the web map. We do have more work to do regarding database synchronization, where the data is being updated simultaneously on the server and on a local database. This functionality will not be there for the initial release of hosted services. Thanks, Mike

@mlaudon I was able to load your shapefile directly into a map. Are you still having a problem? Thanks, Mike

This presentation seems to be working now. There is a bug with web maps that contains CSV layers by reference. Perhaps you encountered this issue. Thanks, Mike

Yes, you are supposed to enter the username/password of your server. Can you share the REST endpoint of your ArcGIS Server here? Would you be willing to give us access? You can send a private message in the forums... Thanks, Mike

There's a warning message that appears when someone attempts to use their existing account to sign up with an organization. It says something to the effect that signing up will transfer all your items to the organization and that the organization also has control over your content and groups. In order for a user to be removed from the organization, all of their content must be removed or transferred to another user. Upon removal of the user, that username is released from the organization and the user can re-register their ID and start using their account as a personal account. Thanks, Mike

Unfortunately, twitter limits the results. Maybe they don't want a huge load on their servers. There's no guarantee from the Twitter API that they will return all tweets within a given map extent. Thanks, Mike
