The ArcGIS Online/Portal team is conducting a short survey on the creating web apps workflow. We want to better understand how users create web apps and how we can improve the process. Your participation is completely voluntary and the survey responses will be kept private. The survey should take roughly 5 minutes to complete. Please answer the questions to the best of your ability. We appreciate the information you give us to help improve the product. Please click on the link to take the survey: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/3309240/Survey-of-the-Creating-Web-Apps-Workflow ArcGIS Online Templates Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS Story Maps

Hi Dana, Is your logo available over https? If you modify the url that was added so that it is loaded over https then you will be able to access the geolocation button and your logo. When working with the geolocation button and chrome, all links should use https. -Kelly

Hi Michael, You don't need to re-add the layer to the web map if the service name is the same. In the web map, we do record the item id, which will change if you republish the service, so there will be a mismatch in item IDs. Currently, this will have no effect on how the layer draws in the webmap, but is something to be aware of if you are looking at the webmap JSON. Additionally, if you want to explore an automation option, you can look into trying to modify this script that updates tiled map services from tile packages which prevents the need to delete the service and republish: http://cloudygis.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=d829e15ca7d840f29b1a1d8d2e8b7ac7 The same concept may work for VTPKs, but I haven't tested it out yet. -Kelly

Hey Doug, Check out my response in this geonet post about SD files: Re: Keep Service Definition Files? The same concept applies to VTPKs. The reasoning and potential impacts of deleting and its impact on related items is is outlined in this post. If you don't need the dependency then it is possible to delete the source data from your content without deleting your service. To do this you will need to delete more than one piece of content, so do this when you need to delete multiple items or create a web map for deleting. Navigate to your content and select more then one item, then hit delete. This will successfully delete content with a relationship to other content. This workflow isn't ideal, but will allow you to remove the VTPK if you don't need/want to store it. -Kelly

Hi Emily, Administrators can change the email addresses for members in their organization. Additionally, if you have a public account you can also change your email address. Any other role will require an administrator to update the email address for the organization member. Manage profile—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS Hope this helps, -Kelly

HI Elena, Thanks for the question and sharing your workflow. There is currently no out of the box functionality to download the data from the ArcGIS Online interface nor is there a documented API for this information. I suggest logging or supporting and idea on https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas?sr=search&searchId=4abf1056-969f-4989-a62d-53ccc3bce70f&searchIndex=0 for consideration in future releases of the software. -Kelly

Hi Lyndy, Thanks for sharing your feedback. I'd suggest taking a look through ArcGIS Ideas and adding this to some similar ideas or logging a new idea. Also, chatting with your account manager about licensing options may be helpful. -Kelly

Hi Leon, You can preserve editor tracking when making the publish call to the rest API and adding the property: preserveEditUsersAndTimestamps example:{"editorTrackingInfo":{"enableEditorTracking":true,"preserveEditUsersAndTimeStamps":true}} This documentation will help: ArcGIS REST API I'm not as familiar with the ArcGIS Python API, but it looks like you should be able to add the above information as a publish)parameter when using publish: arcgis.gis module — arcgis 1.0 documentation Here is a link to a similar script that maintains editor tracking when publishing from a FGDB by making direct REST API calls: http://cloudygis.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=2d7027b148e24005916e55ab2cb74b50 Feel free to share your code if you have questions on how to implement this. -Kelly
