Can't switch to basemaps with WMS link in Scene Viewer with local projection

I am using local projection in scene viewer; however I can't switch to basemaps with WMS link using same spatial reference. 

Scene is in EPSG7855; There are two vector tile layers in the basemap to drive basemap into EPSG7855 as well.

Not clear to me why this doesn't work. To look further into it, could you share the WMS link (or even the layer item) you are using in this case?

Hi @ThomasKnabl I can't share the WMS link.

After further testing, found out I also can't switch to basemap in WGS84 with WMTS layer.

For example, this map: COW Basemap Hybrid WGS84 Public - Overview

Brand new local scene without any layers but can't switch basemap.
