need solution to find out and fix duplicate names

Hi ,,

I have three point shapefiles of same area and which contains geographical names of places, roads, buildings etc.. some names are common in all shapefiles or in any two.. but may not be at exact location, but it will be in same area and represent same feature (within around 2km).  i want to keep one name in any one shapefile and at last i will merge to one.. (i don't want to merge all in to one first and do).  can i use three shapefiles at same time or only two at one time to find and fix.?. So, please suggest methods to find duplicates and fix...

How would you want to define the priority when it comes to which places to keep?

Suppose if  shapefiles are A, B, C respectively.. First i want to delete from A..   Because, both B and C are from reliable sources. between B and C, priority to C.
