Hi,

At the editor toolbar, its' clipping function allows us to choose the option to discard the area it intersects. However, this is not available in the tools of clipping in the ArcGIS toolboxes.

I frequently encounter the need to clip and discard features in the entire rasters or feature classes. It will be great if someone can advise or provide a script on this.

Regards,

Siyang

Do you mean like the Erase Tool for vector data?  There are various options within the spatial analyst like SetNull and Con and even some of the Extraction tools that can be put into use ( ie here is one example )

If you don't have an Advanced license level, the Erase tool will not be available. You can however, use a combination of Union and select by attribute to mimic the tool.

Thanks Patterson,

This is embarrassing. I should have known to use the erase tool. 😕

Thank you!
