Joining latest maintenance record to features

Hi,

I'm trying to join the latest maintenance record to a feature through a common FacilityID. I thought I'd  simply summarize the maintenance records on FacilityID, taking the latest date, then I loose the appropriate maintenance data. How select the most recent row for a given FacilityID?

Seems like an easy task. What am I missing? Any help appreciated.

Do you have an attribute in the maintenance records that indicate the order of the records, for example the latest record has the highest OID? If you do, you can use the Summary Statistics tool with this OID as the Statistics Field - specifying MAX as the Statistic Type, and your FacilityID as the Case Field. The resulting table should list the maximum OID (the latest record) for every FacilityID. Does that work for you?
