Issue exporting rows from a Query Layer

I'm attempting to export a table view (query layer) from a SQL database (not a gdb) using the Copy Rows tool, and am getting the not so helpful "ERROR 999999: Error executing function.". So far I've tried this in a stand alone python script, and the model included below for reference.
When I try this in ArcMap it works fine, using File->Add Query Layer, then right-click and export on the resulting layer. Any ideas, has anyone else run into this? Thank you.
