I have a Problem creating a new Version using Toolbox 'Create new Version' when I use a subordinated Version of DEFAULT wich is created by User 'SDE' via ArcCatalog. To reproduce I will show you what I did before: 1. A Database has been created by the SDE Administrator 1. I've opened an existing Database called SDE.DEFAULT in ArcCatalog using my Database Useraccount 2. I rightclicked to create a new Version of Default and named it 'test' 3. This worked for me, my Version is shown under 'Versions':
test|MyUsername|Public|lastChangeDate
4. I opened ArcMap and the Projectfile pointing to the Database 5. I opened Version 'MyUsername.test' 6. Changed something and SAVED
7. After this I used the Toolbox using "Create new Version" and typed in a new Versionname 'edit'
Parent-Version: "MyUsername".test
Name: test
Description: none
Role: Private
8. Clicked OK After I've clicked OK, ArcMap throws the error 'Can't create Version. Version not found ["MyUsername".test]'. What is wrong? Maybe some Database Security is not set? I can't imagine that it's a bug. Scenario uses following Products: - ArcMap 10 - ArcSDE - Oracle 11 Server Thanks for all advice! Jastro
