Using shapefiles to download aerial photos

Hi all, I've used ArcGIS at my university in the past for various projects, where I normally only needed to download a small set of aerial photos (which I would do manually). I now have a project where I need to download quite a number of images and I was wondering if I could use a shapefile to download aerial imagery from services such as LINZ Data Service . The shapefile contains polygons of areas where I would like aerial imagery downloaded. The LINZ link above offer the ability to download "tiles" of aerial photos, but I'm not sure how I could go about using a shapefile to download this imagery. If there are any help guides available, or any assistance anyone can give that would be awesome

presumably you can download the tiles, then clip them using your area of interest, which can be derived from shapefiles
