Could anyone help? I am having a problem opening numerous mxds which contain layers where the original source data (background map rasters) was held in an oracle database on server which has now been removed and can not be reinstalled. The mxd should open with broken links but instead hangs for up to 6 hours. I have tried scripting for finding and replacing links, reporting broken data sources and the mxd utility doctor all of which register a failure to respond after several hours. The mxd seems to be be stuck in a cycle looking for the lost server connection. Has anyone had this problem and solved it. Many thanks
