How to cut a raster dem file ?

I would like to trace a line on the 3D raster surface, then cut the surface along this line. At the end, I want to be able to move each part of the 3d surface independantly.

Do you think I can do it with ArcGIS?

thanks for your help

Hello,
I think you can use "mask" for cutting any dem but of course you need one/two/....... polygon, which area you want to cut.
Thanks

1. Use Interpolate shape tool. This tool extracts the raster values and assign to line.

2. Now use Split line at vertices tool.

3. Then Use the splited line as input  in Feature to Point tool (point_location = Centroid)

4. Finally use Extract by points tool to extract the pixels below the line.
