I am currently using ArcGIS 10 with Service pack 1 installed. I have an Erdas IMG file that is Very large it is 1band and a 1bit raster. When i zoom in to anything below 1:8000 the image dissappears. once I zoom out beyond 1:8000 i can see the image. I have tried recalculationg stats and building pyramids in erdas and even improting the file into a geodatabase in arc. None of these things worked. Everything worked fine with this fill in ArcGIS 9.3.1. Does anyone have any suggestions

We are having the same problem.  I have an IMG that will not display at a map scale larger than 1:36,679?  I will be submitting a fix request.  -rob

I have the same problem with a Landsat geotiff. Dispite calculating stats and buildig pyramids, the image disappears when zooming out past 1:500,000 or so. Used to work in ArcGIS 9.3.2 for me.

Mike, I'm having the exact same problem. I've tried rebuilding pyramids several times. No luck so far, have you found a solution?

Have you renamed the rasters using ArcGIS 10?  If so, in Windows Explorer do the img's have an associated ige file?

I haven't renamed the rasters in ArcGIS 10 or anywhere else before adding them to ArcMap. There are no associated ige files anywhere.

Mike,

If you can, I would log a call with Support to get this looked into.  Without the data, it will be hard to troubleshoot.

Hi.

We are experiencing the same problem with two IMG files (6.7 GB and 2.3 GB).  When we zoom in closer than 1:15043 the image disappears.

It seems like this is an issue with large IMG files, is there any workaround to solve this issue?

Voldune, we have the *.ige file but we don't know if someone renamed the image with ArcGIS 10.
