Hello from Luzela,

I'm facing a problem as trying to do some spatial analysis. I get this message:

ERROR

updateParameters Syntax Error: Runtime error Traceback (most recent call last): File "c:\program files (x86)\arcgis\desktop10.8\ArcToolbox\Toolboxes\Spatial Statistics Tools.tbx#ClustersOutliers_stats.UpdateParameters.py", line 5, in File "c:\program files (x86)\arcgis\desktop10.8\arcpy\arcpy\__init__.py", line 34, in import arcpy.utils as utils AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'utils'

I'm not familiar at all with coding, I just know how to use ArcGIS desktop to make my maps so any help is more than welcomed.

Thank you in advance

Luzela

You have a license for the Spatial Statistics extension?

Were you using the toolbox in arctoolbox? and if so what were the parameters you used?

Hello Dan,

Thanks for answering.

Well, I do have license for the Spatial Statistics extension. I'm using

arctoolbox and I was trying to proceed mapping Clusters/ Hot Spot Analysis

Even when I tried to proceed with moran's I, I received the same message

What parameters are you using in the tool?  That is what is important.

Some tools have license restrictions, although the tool you were trying to run doesn't appear to have one

Thanks for pointing to the Spatial Statistics toolbox licensing help, Dan!  I was about to do the same in response to the above Q & A about having an 'extension' or license for these tools.  Almost everything is available with a Basic license!

Hi Luzela,

As Dan and Kory mentioned, you don't need a license to run these Spatial Statistics Tools. I am wondering if you changed your python environment? Did you clone the environment or install anything in Python?

You can also try to delete the local caches and see if that changes anything. The cache by default can be found at this path %localappdata%\ESRI\Local Caches on your machine.

Can you also provide the parameters you were using in the tool so that we can try to reproduce this error and give you a solution?

Thanks!

Ankita
