Anyone have issues with Windows 10 installs and ArcMap performance. We have new Windows 10 Desktop. ArcMap becomes progressively slower and eventually locks up over two hours. Performance on Remote Desktop server, WIndows 2008 R2, is fine using same maps.
Did anything else in your GIS environment change besides the desktop OSs?
Nothing changed. Performance on legacy Windows 2008 remote desktop has not changed
Is the degraded performance applicable to all datasources (e.g. local data, network data in shapefiles, personal gdbs, file gdbs, SDE data)?
Or can you isolate the issue to local vs network stored data?
Good question. That is our next step to try to isolate the cause(s). Many possibilities on the cause, desktop configuration, network, data sources.
What version of ArcMap are you using (e.g. 10.6.x, 10.7.x, 10.8, etc.)?
I did notice that some geoprocessing tools have questionable results over the network at times, but they always work when running locally on Windows 10 and ArcMap 10.7.1..
this install is still 10.1 Need that version because of a third party tool requiring 10.1 Moving to upgrade to 10.6 but that is months away.
