We are trying to schedule a 1 year inspection program but dont want the tasks to show on the inspectors device untill closer to the due date. Currently anything scheduled, automatically gets sent.
Hi Elliott,
Thanks for your request on Workforce; there is no way to do this currently, but it is something we have in our backlog. Can you provide some information on how you'd like to control when the assignments appear on the Inspectors device? Is this controlled by the Dispatcher and does the time period apply for all Inspectors? Or, is it something controlled by each Inspector?
thanks,
Craig
Hi Craig,
Thanks for replying. This would be controlled by the dispatcher and be determined by the inspection type. Some inspections are weekly, monthly, fortnightly etc. A weekly inspection would most likely be dispatched at the start of the weeks it due, or maybe the end of the previous week, with a due date for the end of the week. Monthly inspection would be dispatched at the start of the due month and be due at the end.
That seems to be the easiest way.
Another thought could be to set the period in the assignment type. In our case a monthly pump inspection could have a due date of xx/xx/xxxx and then the assignment can automatically dispatch it via a predetermined rule 1 month earlier.
Hi Elliott,
thanks for replying; I've made sure this information has been added to our backlog for this request.
Craig
Craig/Elliot,
We also have assignments that are created days (weeks) in advance of when they would be due. Our thought is to give the worker the ability to filter their to-do list by the due date so that they can focus on only what they need to for that day / week / month (similar to existing filters in dispatcher web app). This ability would then give flexibility to the user to control as much (or as little) of their future work that they want to deal with.
Thanks,
Glen
