Can anyone help me with the geoprocessing tips to make a firebreak layer from merging two different polylines data of roads and ridgelines? Any help would be appreciated.

 Thanks!

Hi Ben - you can do a merge in either ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap or ArcPro) or ArcGIS Online. Feel free to shoot me a message and I can lend you a hand. With a firebreak there might also be the need to display the width of the break.

Thanks,

Chris Ferner

My name is Shreejita Basu and I had posted the firebreaks question from our organization  SNW (Sustainable Northwest) account. I am working on creating a firebreaks layer based on the definition of NRCS Code 394 & 383.
I have different layers which are roads , ridgelines derived from DEM and streams that are polylines. I am looking for a geoprocessing workflow to merge all these layers and create a firebreaks layer with the desired buffer width according to NRCS. Your help would be greatly appreciated.Le me know if you need more information. My email is sbasu@sustainablenorthwest.org.
Thanks,
