Can anyone tell me if there is any way that I can get rid of the Area of Interest graphic layer that is being added to my ArcMap document when I use the step JTXDesktopSteps.LaunchArcMap? We have a couple of custom scripts that run and the introduction of this layer is causing problems. For the moment we have instructed our users to just delete it once they open the map document, but I would prefer if I could control it.

Any suggestions? Also, any documentation anywhere about this one? This seems to be new functionality at 10.2.2

Thanks,

Hi Alison,

You should be able to disable on the step type. This is a screen grab of my launch ArcMap step -

Thanks,

Tope

Thanks Tope.

Can I make a suggestion? There is no mention in the help as to what specifically this option does. Could something be added to mention it adds a graphic layer to the map document?
