Append tool should be renamed to Continue to be inline with Pro. Or, change the name to be “append/continue feature”

Rename the append tool to the continue tool to be in line with Pro. Or amend the name to include the word continue such as “Append/Continue”.

This is inconsistent branding and a  non standardized naming convention.

Hello @SpencerTrowbridge1 thanks for your feedback.

We purposefully chose to call this tool Append since it works differently than the Continue Feature tool in Pro. That tool resumes sketching a finished line, polygon, or multipoint feature so you can add new segments to a line feature from the last vertex.  The Append tool in Web Editor doesn't resume from the last vertex.

If I'm reading your request wrong, please let me know.

thanks, Craig

No.

Continue creates a disjointed feature, or a Hole in a polygon or several distinct line segments (Not from the last vertex as you wrote about 'Continue' tool, "That tool resumes sketching a finished line, polygon, or multi-point feature so you can add new segments to a line feature from the last vertex") - Similarly, as you said above about Web Editor and the Append tool there - new "Append tool in Web Editor doesn't resume from the last vertex", and that is the same functionality as Continue in pro which creates disjointed features

"Append" in Web Editor - same as "Continue" in Pro"Append" in Web Editor - same as "Continue" in Pro

Completed disjointed polygon - Not 'from the last vertex'Completed disjointed polygon - Not 'from the last vertex'.

Therefore, the name should be the same and consistent.

thanks again for the feedback @SpencerTrowbridge1, something we'll review and discuss as we move forward with Web Editor.
