Required questions creating error message before pressing Submit

We use Survey123 for an annual reporting form. To create each year's form, we copy the previous year's survey and update the pulldata CSV with the respondents' answers from the previous year to auto-populate fields that don't typically change year to year.

This year's (2025) survey form is showing an error message for required questions even before the user presses Submit. All required questions that don't have automatically populated data are highlighted red. Our concern is that the error message will be confusing to users. The error message is not appearing in the 2024 survey form that the 2025 survey was copied from. Any ideas of why this error is appearing would be appreciated!

Is your form in a pages style, and are you populating fields on subsequent pages past a page that has required fields that aren't being populated?  Without more info I am just speculating but if that is the case I think this would be expected behavior.  Try running it without the CSV, or trying with just the prepopulating on the first page.

The other thing you could try is making the prepopulated questions relevant on something, so they are not calculated early, triggering the required warning.

I am having the same issue. All required questions that also have a relevant statement are highlighted red on the webform before submitting. The pages style doesn’t make a difference. Have you found any work arounds?
