How to get a count of total records submitted outside Repeat?

Hello everyone,

I need to count the total number of records previously submitted that matches a select_one question! For example: We have 3 zones (A, B & C) and we are collecting samples from each zone. The label for the sample ID include the number of samples taken from each zone (e.g., ZoB-StPe-15-06122023). I need to create a process that auto-generate the sample number or provide to the user the total number of record available within the selected zone so they can manually assign the next number to the sample ID (see sample workflow below). Does anyone know if this is possible?
