Digitizing a Bike/Ped Count Form, Need functionality of Spinner

I am trying to digitize a bike and ped count form. The spinner is the ideal tool because it is easier to tap a notch up than to erase a number and type in a new one.

Can I change the font size or something in Survey123 Connect to make this configuration a reality? Right now, all of the pills just overlap eachother. I can't seem to find a "Theme" option on Survey123 Connect and am also wondering if the columns max out at a certain amount for width defining.

Anything helps! Thanks.

The width appearance (w) tells the question how many columns to span.  The number of columns are set at the group/repeat level with wX, X being how many columns wide you want it to be. If you set the width appearance outside of a group/repeat you will get messed up formatting. Also, if you specify question widths that are larger than the total available columns in a group you will get messed up formatting.  I see you specifying questions with width spanning 55 columns... How many columns are you specifying when you set up a group? If you're not setting up a group to use grids and just calling widths on questions, you need to stop and set up a group.

Based on your screenshot of the form, it looks like you would need a group 9 columns wide to get the layout you have; 3 for the left-hand buttons, 3 for the direction arrows/ top/bottom questions, and 3 for the right-hand questions. However, when I made a group with a width of w9 and a spinner question with a w1 width (question spans 1 column of the 9-column group) the spinner did not have enough horizontal space to appear as designed, unless I fit the form to fit across my 34" monitor.  Any less screen space was showing similar results to what you were getting.  I'm assuming this will be on a tablet and someone isn't going to lug a widescreen monitor to the field. Upping the question width (w2, w3, w55, etc) is just going to increase the number of available columns it spans, so w2 would span 2 columns of the 9-column group, which will then shift the last question in the row (presuming the rest are w1) to a new line.

If you need the spinners, you're going to need to really test layouts. A question width of w2 out of 9 columns will give the spinner enough real estate to appear properly in landscape tablet orientation. You can create sub grids in groups by using nested groups and telling it how wide to be and how many columns of the higher-level group to span using the format wX:Y.  X is the number of columns wide you want the group to be and Y is the number of columns of the higher-level group to span.  So, if you had a group of w9 and wanted a sub-group to have a single column but cross 3 columns of the higher-level group you would set the width of the sub-group to be w1:3.

You have some excess vertical space in that form because of the images.  You might think try creating sub-groups for each row of questions to see if you get them to stack vertically but still be associated closely with the row of images. That might give you enough horizontal space to get the spinner appearance to work as it should.
