I added an AGOL web map in the "linked content" tab in Survey123 Connect.

When I go the the "map" tab, the map doesn't load. It loads if I select any other basemaps.

I added a geopoint question to my form with "map=XXX" under body::esri:style. When testing the form, the custom basemap also does not load, but works when selecting any other basemaps.

When publishing this form, the map also doesn't load on Survey123 for Android, but it does load on the web app.

Any parameter I should add for it to load in Connect and mobile app?

Thanks!

Hey,

Yeah, I don't remember what I did! I should have come back to this thread to close it.

Make sure the map has the proper sharing rights in AGOL, that it is added in Survey13 Connect under Linked content and that it is selected as a basemap under Map (still in Connect). Then trying closing and restarting Connect.

EDIT

Oh yeah also under body::esri:visible for my map question (geopoint in my case) I have my map ID such as "map=xxxxx".

Things to check for:

  • The map must use the Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere projection
  • Check to make sure the web map is shared appropriately
  • Double check the itemID specified in map=XXX

Just downloaded the map and checked in ArcGIS Pro: the map is indeed projected with Mercator Auxiliary Sphere (3857).

Concerning sharing levels, just to be sure, I created a new group and added the map, its layers and tables and also the published form to this group. But still doesn't load in Connect and mobile app (does in web app).
Should this be correct or should it be shared publicly? I don't wan't just anybody adding data to the form, map, layers and tables.

I checked the itemId of the map multiple times, it is correct.

Thanks!

Hi,

Did you ever find a solution to your problem?

I see a similiar behaviour. I am trying to use data from a WMTS (EPSG: 3857). I see the basemap in the list, but when I open it does not load without error message.
