Is this possible to collect fingerprints on survey123, using an external dedicated fingerprint device?
Lets support I have designed a survey123 form for online attendance from the field. I want now to collect the fingerprints of the employees from the field.
Presently, no. There is nothing native for fingerprints.
Depending on what type of output the scanner results in, you may be able to save that in a text field. But I have no idea what the output of a fingerprint scanner would be (and it may vary from device to device).
Here is some good info on fingerprints in general though https://stackoverflow.com/questions/57743059/what-is-the-output-of-a-fingerprint-scanner-is-there-an...
I know nothing about fingerprint scanners or what's required of the fingerprint output, but wouldn't you be able to save the output of the fingerprint reader as a photo and save that to the S123 form?
Assuming the scanner outputs a photo, I think it would first need to be saved to the device and then manually uploaded to the S123 app. But that would be a fairly straight forward process.
If Hadeesullah is looking for Spike level of integration, I don't see that happening in the near future.
However, there is compatibility for things external Bluetooth barcode scanners. So there is a slim chance that if you do what Ismael mentioned here, a text-like output could be automatically saved into the app.
Again, it is all highly dependent on what the actual output is (I'm quite curious to hear the answer now!).
