I've been looking for the same thing and I found this. It has the potential to be promising. It doesn't exactly pre-populate answers, but it will pre-populate dropdown lists. I'm not sure if that could be extended to what you need or not though. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-survey123-questions/dynamic-dropdown-list/m-p/856540

I agree. If Esri claims they are going to support a product, then there needs to be full documentation parity between all platforms. Don't leave your Linux users out to dry.

I am proposing that all Esri ArcGIS Enterprise Technical Support articles/documentation regarding common issues in Windows also have a corresponding article/documentation for Linux if the issue exists in both Windows and Linux environments. For example, the issue described in this Esri Technical Support article (https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000012007) is valid for both Windows and Linux. However, the article only references Windows environments. I experienced this issue yesterday in a Linux environment, yet the only documentation that exists for this issue is for Windows. We had to do a lot of searching around to find the file in a Linux environment. If an issue for any Esri product is possible to exist in both Windows and Linux, then the article should have troubleshooting steps for both environments, not just Windows by default. The link I posted above is just a single example, but it is a common issue. I realize most organizations probably choose Windows to deploy ArcGIS Enterprise, but if Esri is going to support Linux, then Esri's Technical Support articles should have troubleshooting steps for both Windows and Linux environments if the issue the article is describing exists in both environments. The article shouldn't be in Windows by default, with Linux users left to troubleshoot the issue on their own.

This Esri documentation lists the steps in the correct order when upgrading ArcGIS Enterprise. https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/deploy/windows/upgrade-arcgis-server.htm When you upgraded ArcGIS Server, did the server manager open in a web page asking you to continue the upgrade?

I'm not a DBA, so I'm not exactly sure what all extra had to be done. I do know that the user account used to publish feature services to server did not have permission to access the databases, so that had to be fixed. But I'm not sure about the details. I just know that I didn't have to update any connections or anything like that within Esri.

We recently had a scenario where a database server failed. We had to spin up a new server VM with the same name and restore all of the databases from a backup onto that VM. Since the VM server name stayed the same, we didn't have to change any of the connections within Esri. I'm not sure if that answers your questions, but that is the situation we experienced when our server crashed.

It's all good. I appreciate your response and I am glad I was able to find a workaround. Unfortunately, Field Maps has the same "bug" that the new Collector (not the Collector Classic version) and Explorer apps (after v.18.1.0) has that makes the app essentially unusable. All three apps have a variation of the same error message. This is when we sign in to the app with our Portal logins and does not apply to AGOL. In Field Maps, if I open up the layer list for a map, under each layer name, it says "Token Required" and it can't load any of the data. In Explorer, it used to say "User cancelled the authentication challenge", but with the latest version of the app, it just keeps on taking me to the Portal sign in page when I open a map. No matter how many times I enter my credentials, it just keeps on asking me for them over and over again. Eventually, if I click the X button to close the sign page enough times, it gives me an error message for each layer saying "super.handleChallenge(challenge) must not be null." I made a Geonet post when I originally reported the problem (Explorer for ArcGIS Error - User Cancelled Authentication Challenge). I also opened a case with Esri support. I was told back awhile back from Esri that it should be fixed around now. I was really hoping that Field Maps would include this fix, but it does not. So we're still stuck with sideloading an old version of Explorer and Collector Classic until it gets fixed. Since this is with Field Maps, I can open up another support ticket with Esri, but I don't want to be that guy who continuously submits bug reports for the same issue.
