I am trying to use the Raster Split Tool which I downloaded from the Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center (http://www.umesc.usgs.gov/management/dss/raster_split_tool.html).  When I run the tool I receive ERROR 000824.  From what I understand the tool requires the spatial analyst extension, which we have.  We are running ArcMap 10 with the Standard ArcEditor license.  Just wondering if anyone has tried this tool or has any idea how to resolve the error.  Thanks.

Hi,

Make sure you check the Spatial Analyst extension before you run the tool. This is done on the ArcMap main menu > Customize > Extensions > Check the Spatial Analyst option. Also, refer this link for information about this error

To follow up with what Gayu said, after looking at the python script, besides a Spatial Analyst license, an ArcInfo License is also required.  They utilize a tool called Split in the script, which is only available with an ArcInfo License.  The download page makes no reference to this requirement, but the help for the Split tool lists it.  The help pages for each tool should be marked indicating what license level is required for each tool.

You might consider a tool called Split Raster, which is available at all license levels.
