I'm trying to use the Euclidean Distance Tool in ArcMap, but it is constantly showing this error message:

[Error 999999: Error executing function]
[Failed to execute (EucDistance)].

I tried to close my program, restart my computer, change the input and ouput directory  path, change the resolution and the extent, but it constantly shows the same error. I think it might be a software problem? What should I do? Thanks

your cell size is 4x10-4 suggesting that you are using a raster in decimal degrees.

maybe if you post the extent, cell size, snap raster and output file type and filename you might get some suggestions.

also, try saving as a *.tif in a folder would be a good first go, rather than a raster in a folder or a gdb

I think Dan is right on here with the tiny cell size.

If the input is a point dataset, set the geoprocessing environments (Environments... button in the tool dialog) to a projected coordinate system. And, specify a cell size.
