When sharing content from the Special Event Operations Solution, is it best practice to create an AGOL group for each separate event or to utilize the groups that came with the solution (Special Event Manager, Special Event Field Manager, Special Event Operations Apps)?

In other words: Multiple departments in my organization use this solution to plan events. How do I keep one group from seeing site maps for events they are not involved in? Namely in the Special Event Site Map application.

I'm not certain what the true 'best practice' is, but I believe either solution could be acceptable. My suggestion would be to use a reusable subset of groups, like a domain, rather than creating a new group each time. However, if the participants are constantly changing, the other approach might be more appropriate.

Hi @mshanaghan ,

You can filter the list of events displayed in the Special Event Operations Map filter by opening the Special Event Operations Map and placing a filter on the Special Events layer- a filter like "Status excludes Denied and Archived" might do the trick!

Thank you for your input.

As far as you know, is there a way to restrict which events are visible in the Special Event Site Map application? I'd like for users to only see the site maps which are relevant to them.

If it's not possible to restrict event visibility by group, is there a way to remove events from the drop down list without deleting the events all together? Changing the status of an event to "archived" does not remove it from the drop down. This is the drop down I am referring to:
