Coordinating multiple jobs and nodes in distributed processing environments is essential to efficient production pipelines.  Reality Studio enables you to do this through a centralized location where all nodes communicate and store results in, called a Workspace.

The latest release of ArcGIS Reality Studio 2025.2 introduces enhanced Workspace Management capabilities designed to make distributed processing more transparent, efficient, and easier to control. If you work with large-scale reality mapping projects, these improvements will help you stay organized and optimize your workflows.

This article will introduce you to the key functionalities of Reality Studio's Workspace.

Managing your Workspace in Reality Studio

Monitor Jobs in Real Time

Get a clear overview of all active jobs, including their status, progress, assigned nodes, and system requirements. You can visualize job progress directly on the map for better location awareness.

If priorities change, you can cancel jobs without losing completed work. When resubmitted, only unfinished tasks are reprocessed.

Adjust Job Priorities

Control which jobs get processed first by setting priorities from low to highest. This flexibility allows you to focus on critical tasks without interrupting ongoing work.

Enforce Task Requirements

See which workstations are contributing to your workspace, along with their hardware specs and current tasks. This helps ensure resources are being used effectively.

The Workspace Monitor pane now shows the hardware and software requirements for processing each of the submitted jobs and their tasks, as well as the capabilities of the contributing nodes. See which workstations are contributing to your workspace, along with their hardware specs and current tasks, and use this information when enforcing task requirements.

You can ensure that processing nodes only process tasks whose requirements fulfil to optimize the utilization of contributing workstations and maximize Workspace throughput.
