1.What is the difference between tie points and solution points?

2. If I want to edit tie points, can I edit them at solution points without changing the tie points themselves? Will this have an effect on the residuals when computing block adjustment?

Hi Jake,

Good day. Tie points are used to build a relation between overlapping images by connecting similar features automatically (image correlation) or manually (Tie Point Editor). Tie points are used in block adjustment to do what we call a relative orientation. So tie points can be edited to improve adjustment accuracy, not solution points. The tie point location on a map (including residuals) are represented by solution points.
