Traverse tool not accepting Direction

I'm entering in survey calls into the Traverse tool and I'm running into an issue where the Direction I enter doesn't take and gets changed to the direction of the previous call. It gets preceded by an * which, according to the documentation, indicates it is tangent to the previous direction. I'm not a super-experienced COGO user, but not sure what's going on.

Can you share the text of the description, or the bearing you're *trying* to enter?

Sure.

  • Call 13: N89-18-12W, distance of 1,133.27
  • Call 14: N89-17-59W, distance of 2,270.91

However, when I do that, Call 14 gets readjusted to: *N89-18-12W, distance of 2,270.91.

The distance is fine, but the bearing is not.

Odd. I can't replicate that here, but I'm not on the latest version of Pro. (2.2 over here.) Perhaps @SenecaFrancis  suggests, it has something to do with the software. What version are you on?

3.4 here.

The traverse tool has been acting weird after the pro update. Usually when the * happens after I enter a direction I have to delete that row and inset a new one to get it take what I enter.

By the way, I tried just deleting those calls and entering new ones .... same results

Having the same issue at version 3.4. I agree 3.4 has been buggy, lots of crashes and "read-only" projects on opening.

Experiencing the same issue with both curves and lines within the traverse tool.

Trying to enter:

  • N 90-00-00 W  1.75 ft
  • N 89-50-08 W  211.81

Traverse tool changes it to:

  • N 90-00-00 W  1.75ft
  • *N 90-00-00 W  211.81ft

With the * denoting that the line segment has been changed to, in this case, extend the same bearing

This is a 10 minute difference!  What gives?

Hello,

I'm also noticing that this issue when entering direction for a given line and ArcGIS Pro adjust it even when deleting the row. Also, I'm using 3.4 as well.
