Slow Editing in ArcMap 10.6

Anyone else having issues with editing in ArcMap 10.6?  Currently, my shop uses ArcMap 10.5.1 and I imported our existing template into 10.6.  Scrolling around works at a comparable speed but once I start and edit session, everything slows down.  Snapping is slow.  Mouse clicks response are slow.  Everything is slow.

In 10.5.1, we use the Attribute Assistant and Water Utility Network add-ins.  I've tried both the 3.1.2017 and 1.17.2018 versions of these tools and both are slow.

I tried a couple different methods to rebuild the templates and editing was still slow.

I've tried the steps on this blog post and nothing helped.

I've cleaned the map cache and set the geoprocessing results management to keep for less than a day.

I've started a ticket with ESRI but was curious to see how many other people were experiencing this problem too.

James,

Do you happen to have ArcDesktop installed on an OS other than Windows 7 to test?  I am noticing a pattern here with the OS being Windows 7.  Internally I am doing some research and have brought this forum up to my development liaison.

Tina,

Right now I just have Windows 7 on my PC, but I.T. has me scheduled to be upgraded to Windows 10 within the next week I believe. Some of my coworkers have Windows 10 already but they have not tried 10.6 yet

When you upgrade to Win10, please test and let me know if you still see the slowness.  If one of your coworkers already on 10 can upgrade their Esri version to 10.6 that would give us a good comparison as well.  Keep me posted.

Tina,

I am on Windows 10 now and 10.6 seems to be running better. Although I am getting some other errors now that I have contacted support about.

James:

You say editing was slow in both SDE and file geodatabases.  Are you using SQL Server for the database?  If so, what version?  I can sort of understand potential slowness due to ESRI support of a specific version of SQL Server.

I am more concerned with slow editing in ESRI's native file gdb.  What type of data are you editing?  Is the data in a feature dataset with topology?  Does the data exist in some type of network?  Or is the data just a simple standalone feature class?

Michael,

Yes the SDE is SQL Server running ArcGIS Server version 10.3.1

In the File GDB it was just simple feature classes and tables, nothing fancy.

Has anyone on this thread tried editing in SDE with ArcPro and experienced the same slow editing experience?

I see that some users have experienced slow editing in 10.6 against an older SDE version (e.g. 10.3.1).  Have you been able to test if you also upgraded the SDE database to 10.6 if the slowness still persists (You are basically using software at different versions which can work but is not ESRI Best Practice)?

If this is still an issue for all of you then please report this to Esri Support Services, 888-377-4575.  The case should be created and owned by an analyst who works on enterprise geodatabase editing issues.  Please provide them the version of Esri products, RDBMS and version, and operating system each are on (if they are not local to each other).  If you have confirmed tests in 10.5 do NOT produce performance problems, then include those patterns.

I just got a message saying that the solution for this bug has been implemented.  The solution mentions a patch but I don't see any in the 10.6 downloads section yet.  Any idea when to expect this?

Is anyone still having issues with 10.6, sluggish Basemap loads, slow in general and when working in layout view or data view all the features, scales, legends disappear etc when going below a scale 1:1700.  We have two computers running 10.6 both have the same issues and one on 10.5 with no issues.
