Hello,

I would like to publish a service to my enterprise stack where the ArcGIS Server is not federated with the ArcGIS Portal. The SDE has been registered as a managed data store on the ArcGIS Server. I would like to publish the service as a Reference Registered Data. However, when I try to publish the feature service, I get an error stating that the 'Layer's data source is not registered'

My question is, is it possible to publish a service as a Reference Registered data to a non-federated ArcGIS Server provided that the SDE is registered with the server? If so, would you please let me know how to resolve the issue?

Hi @Anonymous User ,

If you are using ArcGIS Pro, yes, you can publish to a stand-alone ArcGIS Server instance.  See the following links for steps on how to do this:

1.  Create a connection to ArcGIS Server:

2. Steps to publish a map:

Hello @JakeSkinner

Thank you for the response. I did check this link out before posting the question however, I am unable to find the server properties. I only have publisher rights. Do I need to have more rights?

It looks like you only have user privileges from the screen shot.  I see (user) in the AGS connection name.  Can you verify you have publisher privileges?
