Set the layout extent to match a map extent

Hello,

ArcGIS Pro has the ability to link the extent of several maps in a single project by using "Link Views."  This is a great feature because we can pan around on one map and the extent of every other map will stay linked.

I would like to extend this functionality so that the extent of maps in a layout are linked to the extent of a map.  Is there a way to automatically do this?  For example if I pan West on a map than the map on the layout should also pan West.  I would like this process to be automatic, but a python script should work as well.

Thank You

At present, there are no core tools in ArcGIS Pro to do this but there are a few ArcGIS Ideas you can upvote to get the "eye" of the developer.

As Robert said, we don't have live linking in ArcGIS Pro, however you can right-click on the map frame and use the Zoom to Last Active Map button to sync up the map frame with the map view. There is also a Zoom to Map View gallery on the Layout tab. Learn more in the Work with a map on a layout help topic.
