Point to Raster - how it works

I've been using the Point to Raster tool to convert XYZ bathymetry data.

I have selected the Cell Assignment Type as Minimum, but have just noticed in the Environments section that the raster storage resampling technique is Nearest Neighbour.

I'm just wondering are 2 interpolation methods going on in the background then? I'm trying to determine how accurate the raster is.

This doesn't really answer my question. Thank you though

PointToRaster does not do any interpolation in the background.

I'm not quite sure how it works then, would you mind clarifying please?

if you've picked Minimum and say 3 points with values 5,6,7 fall within a raster cell, then that cell will be assigned a value of 5.

Have you looked at How Point To Raster works

Yes but where does the nearest neighbour come in with the pyramids?

I'm confused by the gridding process which creates the raster

interpolation was the wrong word used by myself. I meant proximity search. Your answer still isn't answering my question about are 2 processes going on
