Label Classes: Copy to Multiple Maps?

Hello, I have a Pro project with 5 maps, each with a separate layout (5 of t hem). Each map contains the same Parcel.shp.  I created various Parcel label classes (for House Numbers) in one Map, where the label fonts are sized differently - based on what scale/zoom level the map is at. When I open a different Map in the same Pro project, I see that those newly created Parcel label classes don't exist yet in the other Maps.

My question: Is there a way to copy those various Parcel label classes from one Map into another.  I don't want to create them manually for each Map and Layout.

Thanks!   Dave M

Hey Dave,

You wont need to recreate them in each map. Try the ideas below:

  • Copy and paste the layer from the map where the labels are setup to the other 4 maps. The label classes will carry over.
  • Copy the layer in the table of contents. Then go to each of the layers in the other maps and navigate to them in the table of contents. Then right click, paste properties, and choose the properties you want pasted (all, labels, symbology, etc)
Cheers,
Jon

You can also select the labeling tab in the TOC and copy the label class(es), then it lets you choose which options to paste to other classes:

Yes.  You can create a output layer file (*.lyrx) from the GP tool - Save to Layer File (Data Management).  It will store many layer properties including labeling.  Save To Layer File (Data Management)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation
