Hi there,
I have been experiencing a strange issue with ArcGIS Pro selection tools lately.
I start with a layer of Census Blocks and use the tool to create new layers of successively smaller numbers of blocks.
Lately, I have run into an issue where I will have a layer with say 172 blocks then use Select by Location / Attributes to further refine the layer. The resulting layer will have more blocks than the original input layer (photo attached). Does anyone know how I can address this?
version of Pro?
what is your selection query? and
just to check, clear the selection between selections to see if it persists.
I would report it if you suspect a bug...it won't be addressed unless someone reports it and it can be verified
So are you using a Query Layer or Database view at all? I'm seeing some cases where there was duplicates being returned via the view. Also there is BUG-000125909 - The Select by Attributes tool displays incorrect selection of records on a database table without a Unique ID field. But this was fixed at ArcGIS Pro 2.8. What release of ArcGIS Pro are you using?
