Is there a way to have or use AI assistant within ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Online For personal accounts?

Hello everyone,

I need a little help, please. I want to use the AI assistant tool in ArcGIS Pro or Online for educational and research purposes only.

So, please, is there a way to have it? and to have experiance with this:

but I am not sure if that is what you are referring to

If your licensing ArcGIS Pro through ArcGIS Online, or you want AI Assistants enabled in AGOL itself (e.g.,, in Survey 123 survey builder) you need to turn on the AI support within the AGOL Admin settings screen. This is done by a site admin.

Thanks for your response. I just want to have an AI assistant for the faculty/ University where I work.

If you are installing Pro on your machine or in your labs, contact your IT people and verify how it was installed as per the link I provided

They are uncooperative.

That is sad.  If you have permissions to install stuff on your machine and it wasn't installed with the AI, you can still do it yourself, or with the help of clever students 😉

If your university has a site license, your ArcGIS Online Admin could enable AI features in the settings

to enable usage of AI Assistants (October 2025).

Beware that AI Assistants may consume Credits in the future.

AI Toolboxes are something different and do not rely on the previous mentioned setting.

To fully use the AI toolboxes you need the ArcGIS Pro Advanced license (Professional Plus User Type) or ArcGIS Pro Standard (GIS Professional UT) with e.g. Spatial Analyst/ImageAnalyst Extension. Use the model—ArcGIS pretrained models | Documentation, Installation of the AI Framework is required: An overview of the GeoAI toolbox—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

You can also run Models directly in ArcGIS Pro Notebooks and the ArcGIS API for Python arcgis.learn module | ArcGIS API for Python | Esri Developer -- Deep learning models in arcgis.learn
