How do I change the default of how/where attribute table opens

When I right-click on a layer and choose Attribute Table it opens up at the bottom of the screen and takes up at least 1/4 of the screen! I can then make it Float and change the size, but when I open the same or another attribute table it again opens up at the bottom of the screen. How to I set it so it does not do this?

You can't change that yet, but you can vote on the idea for it over here. Word is that attribute tables will be seeing various improvements in an upcoming release, so fingers crossed that this will be among those features.
