I keep getting the Error: 0x80040501 when attempting to repair connection to an sde. I inherited the gis work at my workplace and I am unfamiliar with how the databases were constructed. Any help with solutions to this error?

It is to an SQL Server, I believe because I am a new user on this machine something may be up with the credentials or access to the server. This may be a problem I have to solve internally but I figured it was worth a shot to see what the community had to offer, thank you.

Perhaps this is related, especially if the db's were not created using your computer:

There's also this:
Troubleshoot database connections—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

It may also help if you provide the version of Pro you're using.

What type of database is the connection to (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, PosrGres, other)?
