Hi there,

I am new to using the ArcGis Pro Platform (have very basic experience with ArcMap). I am trying to merge two layers (all point data no polygons or lines). I get an error message "the destination layer type cannot be merged". I have two layers that were collected on two separate field maps that I would like to combine the attribute tables of. Am I going at this the wrong way? Is merging possible with point data? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you're using 2 point layers you should be able to merge them together. Have you checked that they're both using the same projection?

They are both in the WGS1984 Web Mercator co-ordinate system

Featureclasses in a locally stored file geodatabase would be my suggestion.

Also make sure that the file paths to the data are as short as possible and...

make sure that none of them are being edited

... sort of retired...
