Alias Names for Folder Connections in FAVORITES

I am working in 3.1.2 and trying to give my Favorites folder connections Aliases and the option does not appear upon right clicking, only Rename is there. I see the alias option is available when I right click on a folder connection under Project, but I want them to persist under my favorites so they are always there when starting a new project. Is this functionality not available currently?
This is all I see when I right click a folder connection under my Favorites, and when I use Rename it tries to rename the folder in the file system as a whole, not just under my favorites list:
